ISIS Regional Fertility Clinic, with an of ce on North Service Road near Trafalgar Road, has changed its name to the Reproductive Care Centre (RCC) to remove any possible association with the violent revolutionary focus in the Middle East, a spokesperson for the clinic said. "We chose the name ISIS when we opened in 1999 because in Egyptian mythology, Isis was the goddess of sky, nature and fertility," said Dr. Mathias Gysler, medical director of RCC. "While the name was appropriate at the time, the term is now associated with religious extremism and sectarian violence. It has become the antithesis of what we represent." The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), is widelyknown by its acronym -- ISIS. see Name on p.4 Fertility clinic changes its name to avoid negative connotations S H E D D I N G L I G H T O N O V E R D O S E Police induct Hinchcliffe to Stay on Track safety blitz by Tim Whitnell Metroland West Media A candlelight vigil was held in the Towne Square to raise awareness about and mourn victims of overdose in the community.
