Both the 14th annual Oakville Lifestyle Home Show and the inaugural Oakville Healthy Living Show will be running side by side in separate arena surfaces September 11, 12, 13. One long meandering aisle will wind its way through both major events - and both are free admission all weekend! Come enjoy the Home Show - discover what's new for your home and save money on just about everything you can think of from kitchens to roofing! Back by popular demand is the strolling Home Show guitar players Rick and Larry who love to do requests! At the new Healthy Living Show you can talk one on one with some of the area's finest businesses dedicated to "healthy" living. Companies such as Shoppers Drug Mart, Popeye's Supplements, Arbonne, Oakville Naturopathic Wellness Centre, No Allergies Please, Bronte Natural Health Clinic, Halton Healthcare (Oakville Hospital) plus many more will be represented. The Healthy Living Show stage area will feature free presentations from local exhibitors with healthy living advice and recommendations. The keynote speaker is three-time Olympic gold medalist and hockey star Jennifer Botterill who will be appearing Saturday at 2 p.m. Jennifer will be talking about her adventures and healthy living and will be available afterwards for questions. She will also be bringing her gold and silver medals for a photo op! Also on Saturday at 1 p.m. Karolina Otto RD from the Real Canadian Superstore will be presenting a nutrition talk on effective label reading. Other presenters include Sebastian from Oakville Chiropractic Life Centre at 4 p.m. Saturday and on Sunday at 1 p.m. Christine from No Allergies Please. Returning to the show this fall is a huge international bug display in the second arena along side of exhibitors. Proudly presented by Orkin Canada it is titled The Incredible World Of Bugs and it's goal is to raise public aware- ness of the vital role these creatures play in our daily lives. The exhibit provides children, community groups, adults and educators the opportunity to see up close, real butterfly, moth and insect specimens collected from around the world and to interact with on-site creator/manager Mr. John G. Powers aka the Butterfly Man. You'll see thousands of breathtaking specimens! Just one of the many important fund raisers at the show takes place at the "As It Happens Photography" booth. Santa will be there from noon to 3 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday and a photo session fee of $25. will go to Alzheimer's Society with great photo packages available for purchase afterwards.
