The Incredible World of Bugs, a traveling exhibit presented by Orkin Canada, is designed to entertain, engage and enlighten young children, and those young-at-heart, about the "strange and fascinating" world of butter ies and insects, according to a media release. "The goal of the exhibit is to raise public awareness of the large role these tiny creatures play in our daily lives," said John G. Powers, exhibit creator and manager. "They pollinate our crops and supply us with honey, silk, medicine, along with so many other bene ts." The exhibit will be featured at the Oakville Fall Home Show at the Glen Abbey Recreation Centre, 1415 Third Line. It will run on Friday from 3-8 p.m.; and Saturday (Sept. 12) and Sunday (Sept. 13), from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The travelling road show includes interesting facts and a close-up look at rare beetles, giant spiders and brilliant butter ies, among others. It also provides the opportunity to learn about the current challenges impacting their ecosystems, which in turn, can affect the lives of humans. "With more awareness, governments, educators, researchers and the general public will hopefully rally to address issues that threaten the stability of the butter y and insect ecosystems in Canada," stated the release. Each year, Orkin Canada supports approximately 20 Incredible World of Bugs exhibits in local communities.
