Rinella set to step into the role of OCF CEO in early September by Julia Le Oakville Beaver Staff 15 | Friday, August 21, 2015 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com Wendy Rinella has been named the new CEO for Oakville Community Foundation (OCF). Rinella, a well-known community volunteer and former president of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, will officially take the helm of the organization that fosters philanthropic stewarding and community building Sept. 8. "I am extremely excited by this opportunity and I look forward to working with the board and staff who have been leading the work of the foundation so successfully," said Rinella, who has been vice-president of corporate affairs at First Canadian Title (FCT). "I am looking forward to working with the fundholders of the foundation, who make possible the work of the foundation. I join the foundation with tremendous enthusiasm, and humbled by the enormous responsibility." The OCF board made the announcement of the appointment Aug. 13. "Wendy brings not only her significant leadership abilities and wide range of experiences to the position, but, just as importantly, brings her passion for Oakville. She will be a champion, both for the foundation and for our town," said OCF board chair Nick Jelinek. The selection process moved quickly. Rusty Bailey, who was the OCF's CEO for the past 11 years, was to retire at the end of the year, but will be assisting Rinella transition to her new role in September. "As the selection process went much faster than originally intended, Rusty has agreed the organization will benefit Wendy Rinella from ensuring the right successor, and noted that if it means having to retire a bit earlier than planned, it is with the knowledge of getting the right person for the job," said Jelinek. Rinella brings with her a wide breadth of experience to her new role. She has been in charge of corporate social responsibility at FCT and spearheaded the FCT Charitable Foundation. She is also vice-president of public affairs and treasurer for the Title Insurance Industry Association of Canada, and a board member for the Halton Learning Foundation (HLF).
