The annual scholarship awards are partly due to the support May Court receives from The Goddard Foundation, RBC Foundation and CIBC Children's Foundation, as well as private donors and the club's fundraising efforts. More than $600,000 scholarships have been awarded since the program's inception in 1962 where May Court awarded its first bursary for $375. By the mid-1990s, the organization had its scholarship program finely tuned to resemble what it is today with the goal of financially helping Oakville students in their post-secondary careers. Students from all 10 publicly-funded high schools are eligible to apply, with the following criteria being met: acceptance into a postsecondary Canadian program; financial need; and some aspect of volunteering or giving back to the school community and community at large. Recipients of the award are eligible to reapply each year throughout their first degree.
