For eight days this month the six, all women -- two each from Burlington and Oakville and one from Milton and Georgetown -- will be part of a contingent of 60 Royal LePage agents, brokers/owners, staff and family members from across Canada that will brave high altitudes, zero degree nights in tents and a lack of running water, electricity and cellphone service to raise funds and awareness to make inroads against family violence. Oakville contingent The Oakville contingent includes: Josie Racco-Attardo, agent with Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd. and Kate Vanderburgh, agent with Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd. The entire group is comprised of about half men and women. Their destination is the 15th-century Incan civilization ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru. Three groups of approximately 20 people each are leaving one day apart between Aug. executive director of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, said in a press release. "In that same spirit, we partnered with Charity Challenge, a company that offers international travel adventures to raise funds for charity, and chose the trek to Machu Picchu because it offers a physically demanding hike in a beautiful and remote location that is considered by many to be a `bucket list' experience," added SpencerBrown. see Trip on p.16 Josie Racco-Attardo Kate Vanderburgh 15-17 to head to the region of the Andes Mountains. The trek is organized through the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, which supports more than 200 women's shelters and other domestic violence support programs across Canada.
