- "A couple of months ago, George Erasmus was re-elected chief of the conference, he made an eloquent speech which was largely misinterpreted and to which most white commentators reacted badly. In his speech, he spoke to the Prime Minister and the Premiers of Canada. He said: "If you do not deal with this generation of leaders... then we cannot promise that you are going to life the kind of violent political action that we can just about guarantee the next generation is going to bring you."
