The CPA has identified that the proposed natural-gas station is the best option for addressing electricity needs in terms of security, reliability and cost effectiveness. ONTARIO HERITAGE TRUST COMMUNITY RECOGNITION PROGRAM Council was pleased to nominate Mrs. lean Barkey for the Ontario Heritage Trust’s Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award. Mrs. Barkey has made a number of exceptional contributions to preserving built and cultural heritage in the Town, through her 35 years of volunteer service to the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum, as author of two significant publications on local heritage and for providing leadership and fostering financial and political support for local heritage conservation initiatives. Council also named the toboggan hill “Hunt’s Hill†after Mickey Hunt, a neighbourhood resident instrumental in the creation of the toboggan hill and an avid supporter of winter activities in the park. The concept plan incorporates feedback provided by residents at two public consultation meetings and lifecycle requirements associated with existing equipment and park amenities.
