Downtown Oakville Sidewalk Sale has more than good deals There's more to Downtown Oakville's Sidewalk Sale this weekend than good deals -- there's a slew of performances scheduled to entertain shoppers. The 42nd annual Sidewalk Sale, organized by the Downtown Oakville Business Improvement Area (BIA), started yesterday (Thursday) with performances by Liona Boyd at Knox Presbyterian Church and the Steetwise Actors at Oakville Towne Square, 94 George St. The sales and performances continue today through Sunday (June 14). Tonight (Friday), at Towne Square, shoppers will be entertained by the Tdot Finest Break Dance Team from 5:30-7 p.m. Performances by Ashworth at various locations across Downtown Oakville and Streetwise in Towne Square are set from 5:30-8 p.m. and 6-7 p.m., respectively. The entertainment continues at Towne Square Saturday (June 13) with the Isaac Luy Capoeira Dance Team and a workshop run by the group from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. From 1-2:30 p.m., Sheridan College's dance and theatre students will put on a performance, as well as conduct a workshop -- as will Jessgo from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday, the last day for the Downtown's Sidewalk Sale, will feature a free yoga session done to a live guitar performance by Celina Close and Warren Nicholson from 10-11 a.m. at Towne Square. Gadfly will perform at the same location from 1:15-2:30 p.m. The Downtown Oakville Sidewalk Sale spans six blocks of local businesses, which will run extended store hours during the weekend. In addition to the scheduled headlining entertainment there will also be performances through the Downtown by artists, such as Calm Cool Collective, Jules and more.
