CKSS' annual awards night was held last month where outstanding achievers were recognized. The venue was packed full of honour's society members, and proud familles. Grade 12 student Ishan Acharya won awards for obtainîng the highest mark in ail of his courses. lshan aiso completed the year with the highest grade 11 average of 97.14%. Furthermore, the CKSS We Scare Hunger campaign spearheaded by Lena Lahalîh was, a huge success! The school cotlected over 2000 non-perishable food items. Another club that lias participated in humanîtarian aid caînpaigns is Youth In Action (Y I A>. ibis month they invited Chris Ise. a Doetrv slam artist from Free the Children, and the Kenyan Boys Choir to perform. The V.IA then raised money for building a school in our adopted village of Asemkow, Ghana. In addition to this, the Junior Boys* football team accomplished some amazing feats in their fiîst season. The team went 5-1 in their regular season and made thie championship game, but ultimately lost against .Frank Hayden Secondary School. Despite this, the positivity from the crew is inspiring.
