Children under 12 yrs. Free COLBORNE H.S. GRADUATE IS ADJUTANT OF RCAF STATION FL Harold Knight has been appointed Adjutant of the new RCAF Station at Cold Lake, Alberta. Harold is the son of -Mrs. Henry Knight of Wicklow. He attended and graduated from Col borne High School. He has had a successful career as a flyer in the RCAF and has accomplished many daring exploits with jet planes in demonstrations. His many friends will be happy to learn of his important appointment as Adjutant. At present he is holidaying with Mrs. Knight, Shannon and Kevin at their cottage at Little Lake. Next week they will return by motor to their home at Cold Lake.--Cobourg Sentinel-Star. DROWNING VICTIM BURIED IN EDMONTON AND REMOVED TO LAKEPORT The funeral service for the vie tim of a drowning, Albert Williams, aged 62, of Edmonton, Alta., was held there on Friday, July 30th, 1954. Rev. Ian Kerneo officiated and burial was in Bee-enmount cemetery. Mr. Williams left his home on July 1st to join members of the Canadian Legion in a search for a 2/4 year old child, Dianne Mason who had disappeared from her home that day and has never-been found. Police recovered the body of Mr. Williams from the North Saskatchewan River at Beverley xon July 28th and it is believed the body had been in the water for two weeks. Identification was not made for several days. On receiving word of her brothers death, Mrs. Nelson Fish; left for Edmonton on Monday, August 9th and made arrangements to have the body brought home. The guest minister was a former pastor, Rev. Ronald Bonner B.A., of Philadelphia, who delivered two well to be remembered sermons. The choir with Miss Thelma Priest as organist rendered special music and was assis ted in the morning service bv a guest soloist from Stratford and at the evening service by Mr. Abraham of Port Hope. Owing to the necessity of re-vamping plans for the postponed Carnival to be held on Wednesday, August 18, the time was taken up with that important work. Chas. Wood led the sing-song and everyone was glad t0 see Mrs. Irvine back after her little holiday. There was one visitor, Mr. P. Haxwell of Detroit, a guest of Albert Dance The band concert held in Victoria park last Sunday evening was a marked success if overheard comments are a good criterion. A little more preparation on the part of the sponsors would not have been amiss but there will be another occassion in the near future, we hope. We want to thank the citizens for turning out so well and responding so generously when the (baskets?) were passed around.
