Drop in to the Ganaraska Forest Centre on Saturday, December 11th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and learn to create natural wreaths and seasonal ornaments with the staff of the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority. Using materials found in the forest and a little bit of your imagination, you'll leave this fun-filled day with some great holiday décor. Evergreen boughs, grapevine, seedpods and other ornaments will be provided but please feel welcome to bring any materials of your own to create your masterpiece. Plan to spend the day creating one-of-akind ornaments while enjoying hot chocolate and festive music. Pre-registration is required for this holiday event at the Ganaraska Forest Centre and will cost $20.00 per family, $8.00 per adult, or $4.00 for children, students or seniors. For GANARASKA see page 12 `Family Matters' show at Library art space Through the month of December, "Family Matters" by artist John Di Leonardo will be featured at Artspace on the Mezzanine at the Bowmanville branch of the Clarington Public Library, located at 163 Church Street, Bowmanville. About this series of smaller scale, mixed media works, John writes: "These works serve as evidence of the connectednesss of daily physical family experiences to the great pattern in the cosmos, `Love'." Di Leonardo is a graduate of McMaster University in Fine Arts. A full time artist and poet, he has been an art educator at the secondary and post-secondary level for 31 years. An exhibitor in numerous solo and juried shows since 1978, he works in oils, acrylics, collage, watercolour, drawing and ceramic sculpture. The figure, colour, nature and the imagination remain constant themes for this Brooklin artist.
