The Orono squad went into Mariposa on a snowy Monday night and left with a 7-2 victory. Jess Gimblett had -a hat trick while Tanner Milison, Tyson Gimblett, Brian Pisani and Jesse Price had single markers. Kyle Allin, Curt Robinson, Tanner Milison and Kyle Searle con- tributed 2 assists each, while Malt Barnes, Tyson Gimblett, Paul Richter and Kienan Williams had single helpers. Their second game was against St. John's Peterborough teams and Whitehead took the win wilh a 7-0 score. This win placed Orono in the "A" Championship game against Frankford. Il looked as tlough tley migît put up a bit of a fight but Orono was totally "Awesome," and won the game easily by a score of 7-1. However, the lead was short- lived as the Kinsmen lied il up wilh about tîrce minutes lefi in the game. 1The Donut Gallery had some open ice lime and used il for exhibition play against Newcastle's Malhew and Associates this past Saturday night.' Newcastle came out on top defeat the locals 5-3. The, teams were well malcled pulling on a terrific show. Donut Gallery's Josh Moffat slarled off by scoring unassisted in the first period but not before Newcastle lied il up less than a minute later. Deboo, nol likîng the way things looked decided bo give his a 2-1 lead on a fast-pass fromn Kyle Dexter. But, Newcastle kicked mbt ge'ar with three quick goals early in the second. Donut Gallery managed to gel the puck mbt the Newcastle net one more lime when Sarah Donnelly' passed the puck up 10 Cam Delorme then 10 Malt Bester who then slid the puck home 10 make il 4-3 aI the end of the second. Newcastle upped their end of the score finishing the game with, a 5-3 victory over Orono. Orono's Century 21 novices look Iheir show on the road 10 Havelock for a day tournament November 141h and brought home the 'D' championship. The youngsîers played llree games in lotal--going down the first two before meeting up with the St. Aiphonsus 'E' team in the final and shutting them out 4-0 10 win the big tro- phy. Game one saw the local lads go down 4-1 10 Barrie 's Black Alley Crossiers. Barrie had a shulout intact weill mb the third period before Orono's Ben McKelvie played the spoiler scoring Century's only gyoal of the game wit h Kenny Jackson and Mitchell Harding earning tle assists. 0f note, goalie-Jason Hoyne made a number of big 'saves through- out tle game. Game two saw the realtor gang go down 5-4 10 'St. Aiphonsus' 'B' teamn in an end- to-end see-saw batie. The score was tied a aI one after one thanks 10 Tyler Lawrence who put Oronio on the board first from McKelvie. Afier two periods,' the score was lied at three. Jackson gave Orono a short lead from Nikolas Richards, then St. Alphonsus lied il. Orono couldn't overcome the deficit. Game three, for the 'D' championship, one minute and nine seconds mbt the opening period, Century's Luke Green scored whaî would be the win- ning goal unassisted. Then, Bradley Martin fired one home midway through the first giv- ing Orono a two goal lead. Nuinber three came at 7:45 of tle second from Noel Snow off tle stick of Ben McKelvie putling the boys ahead com- fortably ahead by three. They put the game away when Aaron Zolderdo found tle mark late in the second period 10 win the 'D' final. Kenny Jackson and Noel Snow both picked up assists on the goal while Orono goaltender, Jason Hoyne got credit for the shutout.
