This article is not about anything Arotinc Home but Is about Orono andi how Orono appear to others. Corne this past week-end it was off to Lake On The Mountain to attend to busi- ness for a two-day period. It sounds great but there can be no dependence frorn this venture as to capital gain or, at limes, even gas rnoney. There are rewards, of course, and that generally cornes frorn the people you meet. They have been there frorn Alberta to Nova Scotia and down into the States. The workshop is an old' dance hall, restaurant andi one old -tirne referred to«the building as the "Bucket of Blooci". You can always tell those that have attended dances in the hall and they do give the building a close look-over andi add to the bis- tory of the building, factual or ficionaL. There was activity al over Including a band concert in the park andi a big birthday cake which we were invited to taRe part. We thoroughly enjoyeci the day." "I'm sure the people in Orono would be glaci to hear wbat you have just saici and I arn glad you enjoyeci the hos- pitality inour community." «We went back on Canada Day in 1996 andi were most disappointeci that the park was almost vacant." "Dont' try this year because there is nothing planneci for the Canada Day celebration. Perhaps 1998 Canada Day could be cele- brated at the park." "We do keep going back. to Orono. We enjoy the Tea Room at the Bake Shop and it is a beautiful village. I will keep Canada Day 1998 in minci. Irmust be on my way - down the MIl and tumn riglit?" "Have a good trip and thanks for the words on Orono". I would have to agree with the Toronto gentleman that lOrono is a beautiful place and it was gooci hearing it corne from some one out-of- town.
