St. Stephens High School News Amos Langley of the Newcastle Li( at the Walk-A-Dog-A-Thon on Saturday. The biggest snowmnobile show in the world was held October 13-15 at the Markham Fairgrounds. Hubby really wanted to go again this year and spend hours checking out the fat- est in snowm-obiles, snow- mobile accessories, trailers and information about the various radar races, and poker runs in dîfferent areas. I hiesitated to go because of past ex-perience. Last year hubby and 1 went to the show with sev- eral other couples. At the end of the afternoon the women were complaining about spending six hours just looking at snowrnobiles. Now don't misunder- stand, 1 loved seeing ail the snowmobile machines and the latest fashions in s-now- mobile wear. But enough is enough! TWO or three hours is plenty of time for walking through the show. Last week 1 had a bad bout of the flu and was not fully recovered when the Snowmobile Show rolled around. Hubby's best friend and kindred snowrnobile enthusiast could not go to the event. He was away on a hunting tip. Our brother- in-law decided to miss this show because he had just become a new father. Ail the men seerned to be busy this year. 'Mat meant the wives certaînly were not going to attend eîther. Bleeding-heart that 1 arn, 1 dragged my poor body - did 1 forget to also mention 'm a first class m-artyr - o. t of bed to accompany hubby to his snowmiobile drearn show. Now this is the part I find fascînating. Hubby and I went through the same show as last year in approx- imately three hours. We saw it ail. Being the quiet suffering martyr thlat I arn, I did not point out how weak or tired 1 was. ýNot once! I even offered opinions on different snowmachines, usually per- taining to their colors. Without having to register one comnplaint with hubby about the length of time spent walking around, we accomiplished our visit in haif the time it took last year. Why did it take less time? Well, I realized that when three or four guys go to an event like this, haîf of the Urne is spent out-doing each other with wild tales; brag- ging about their present snowmobîles or dreamning aloud. A lot of "Iittie boy" maie bondîng goes on. If ever the world's largest sewing machine show cones to town l'Il be certain to take hubby and a few friends. The men can walk around with us for hours listening to us chatter and drool over the speed it catn stitch a hem or how beautiful this year's design, Can you just see it?!
