Bobcaygeon took control of the gamne in the first period, but Orono finally got on the scoreboard midway tbrougb the second with a goal from Mati Caruana assisted by Curtis Robinson and Nathan Adegeest. The line of the nigbt was Matt Caruana, Curtis Robinson and Jordan Beacock. A bat thrower it was when Jordan Beacock scored bis first bat trick of the year, witb Matt Caruana getting three assists, Curtis Robinson two assists, and Kevin Martin receiving one. Nathan Adegeest scored the tying third goal of the gamne assisted by Kyle Allin and Justin Szymczak. Bryan Bickell scored the go ahead goal midway tbrough the third period assists from Matt Mitchell and Kyle Cox. Jordan s final two goals were the reassurance tbat was needed to give Orono a 6-3 win. Congratulations boys on another Frîday, March 10 was a different type of game for the, boys as for being organized and playing together it just didn't bappen. There were opportunities but they neyer got capitalizeil on. Orono were defeated 4-2 by Osbawa's Little NHL Blackbawks. Oronos goals were Justin' Szymczak unassisted and Curtis Robinson from Matt Caruana. Curtis' Robinson received two pen alties in the game one for roughing and the other for interference. Donut Gallery Atoms lose to bad luck not effort, The Donut Gallery Atom' Leafs conîinued exhibition play Tuesday, night in Sunderland against their playoff nemesis. Orono put on a solid defensive effort for ail but eight seconds in tbe second period wben they allowed îwo goals. That was enougb as tbe Leafs could only manage one goal late in the third by Mark Brennan assisted by Dan Tresise -and Mati Reid, as Sunderland beld on for the 2-1 win.c Fridiay nigbî the Leafs pae bosi to the Bowmanville Selects. The Selects jumped into an early two goal leadl, althougb the Leafs bad several glorious scoring chances that they were unable to capitalize on. Midway througb the second period Justin Standeven took a clearing pass, from Lee Allin and raced tbe length of the ice wbere be let a bard shot go that beat the Bowmanville goalie to cul their lead to one. 'Me Selects regained their two goal margin laie in the second but in the third Justin Standeven took a pass from Mark McAlister and Matt Raid and scored wîth another bard shot to bring tbe score to 3-2. This ended the scoring but the Leafs deserve full marks for their spirited play and only some bad luck aro und tbe net kept tbemn from the garnrng the win. Sunday afternoon tbe Leafs trekked to Millbrook for what turned outi obcb a very physical game as for the last haîf the referees put their wistles ini their pockets and let virtually everytbing go to give the boys a aste of body contact for those who move up to Pee Wee next year. Millbrook, won the encounter 6 to 3 but Orono once again bad no luck around the net to reward tbemn for their bard work. Jamie Rowe scored Orono's first two goals with tbe first assisted by J ustin Standeven and the second by Jeif Thompson and Brandon Hilîs. Matt Reid completed the Leaf scoring with an unassisted effort from behind the Mfilbrook net. Geraldi Financial finished season undefeated' Orono's Geraldi Financial Minor Tykes completed the regular season on Saturday, March 1 1 with their 20th victory, remaining undefeated l al season. Tbey defeated Skyligbt Donuts 13-0. Lots of scoring in this one, and Jason Geraldi started the team off on the plus side wben he took the pass from teammates Mati Bester and Rikki Palmrateer to put il past Skylight's goalie. 1-0 Orono. Taylor Doyle then shoots a bigb one i the mesb, with Shane Winters providing the assist. 2-0 Orono. The last goal of the firsi was scored by Jason Geraldi unassisted 3-0. The second period showed a lot of action when Jason Geraldi scores once more to Put the team at a 4-0 lead. Matt Bester was there with the assist. The Cougars scored their only goal in the first period as Orono replidd with two n the second and one more in the final frame edging the visitors 3-1. Shots were evpn at 17 apiece. Orono netmindér Ryan Leddy got the win credit. Sunday, March 12 the Leafs visited Ops and dropped a tough 2-1 decisions to the Flames. There was defihitely, a mismatch in penalty assessment in this contest as Orçofl garnered a whopping 35 of the 37 minutes handed out! Thdre was no scoring in the first ppriod witb Ops edging Orono in shots by a 6-3 margin. Faced with relentless sborthanded situations in the- middle fraine h0wever, the Leafs finally succunmbed to a power play goal with just 37 seconds remaining. Leiif goalie Dusty Stapleton hti d performed brilliantly to thagt point kicking out a staggering 27 shots! The Flames had built a 2-0 lead early in the third wben Greg Shetler replied on a nice solo effort and Oronos only marker at the 6:53 mark Final shots on goal heavily favoured the Flames to the tune of 36-11. The Ops Flarnes visit Orono for a return niatcbup Friday, repeated the strategy wben Jason Geraldi takes the feed from Matt Bester and Matt Baxter to up the lead to 5-0. Stili in the second wben Taylor Doyle goes down alone andl score 6-0 Orono. Jason Geraldi gets two quick ones in a row with Rikki Palmnateer providing both assist.s. 8-0 Orono Leafs. We dive into the third when Doug DeBoo gets the lead off goal, Taylor Doyle and Zak Snowden getting the assists on that play, 9-0. Midway tbrougb the third, when Jason Geraldi gets his seventb goal of the gaine, when be took the pass from Matt Bester. 10-0 Ormno.
