Mfter dropping a 3-2 decision to the visiting BRI-L Selects Friday, February 3, the Orono Pee Wee club have emerged winners i three straight matches. Saturday, February 4 saw Orono knock off the LNHL Blackhawks at north Oshawa arena by a 3-2 score. Orono led, _1-0 after one on a goal by Brandon Caruana with assist by Andrew Beacock. The Blackhawks led 2-1 after two then when the Leafs replied with third period markers by Matt McGIynn and Bob Witheridge. Tyler Robinson assisted on both tallies. Family Auto netminder Ryan Leddy was credited with the win. Wednesday, February 8's contest against Lindsay's Pizza Hut saw a major Leaf lineup shuffle as stalwart blueliners Greg Bester and Jamie parry were assigned front line duties. The coaching strategy worked as Orono edged Lindsay 2-1 with both Leaf players factoring in on the scoring. Greg Bester got bis first goal of the season the game winner late in the second period. Centre Randy Brennan got Orono on the scoreboard at 8:08 of the first. Jamie parry assisted on both Leaf goals with Matt Mcglynn picking up a helper as well. Goalie Dusty Stapleton earned the win in tbis match for his club. Sunday, February 12 saw return match in Lindsay Rec Centre against Pizza hut. In sharp contrast this, was a high scoring affair as the Leafs crushed Lindsay 8-3. Down 1-0 after one, Orono led 3-1 after two producing 5 unanswered goals in the final frame. Highlighting the third period was defenceman, neil Borutskie's first and second goals of the season (including the winner!). The Leafs other goals were scored by Bob Witheridge (2), Greg Shetier (2), T'yler Robinson, and Kyle Beacock.
