True the robin's did appear. And just after they did. My sister, driving along, hit the first robin of tbe year with ber car. Revenge. Pure and simple revenge. Mother Nature is obvîously somewhat upset about this, and she is punishing ail of us, for the simple mistake that the Ministry of Transportation made when giving my sister, the intrepid bunmer ber licence. A licence to kill you might say. True, tbe vast array of roadkill along the shoulders of the road are not entirely the fault of my sister. But tbe robin, yeah it was a bad move. Seemingly, witb the untimely demise of tbis poor, defenseless robin, came the quelching of al our hopes for a speedy retumn of spring. It is with deepest regrets tbat 1 inform you that spring may be a long time coming. And even if, you think it bas arrived, dont let down your guard. She may be bluffing. I suspect ol' Mother Nature has a pretty good poker face. Though at the moment I am typing this she appears to be smiîing, it could in truthbcbea smirk. 1 could wake up tomorrow and find myself buried under a foot of snow. The weathermen are baffled. They don't know wbat to tell you. The meteroloeits can't define anv sort of weather pattem that could influence this rotten and yucky spring. They haven't met my sister.
