Want that al students get chance for school trips Trustee's for the Northumberland and Newcastle School Board has voted te set up a task force te review its pelicy on out-of-classroomn programs. The group will be made up of principals, teachers, parents and students, as well as trustees. Trustees feel that there is a certain possibility that some students don't go on school trips because of the cost. The final report from the task force is due in December. Until that time, schools will publish a caiendar outlining ail planned' school trips and the expected costs, starting in September. 'It will aise be up te the principals from each independent school te determine how th e trips are te be paid for and te ensure that ne student is. excluded because of the cost of the trip. Fund-raising within the schools was presented as an option. The one certainty, is that parents who can afford the cost will stili be expected te contibute te school trips.
