One out of seven women battered by partner In Ontario, November has been designated as -Wife Assault Prevention Month". there are many myths to explain why wife assault happens but facts are that one out of every seven women in Canada is battered by her partner. in the IDurham Region, women are being threatened, punched, slap- ped, kicked, beaten, stabbed, and shot at by they men they live with. Violence is occuring in every kind o f home and i n every neighbourhood; to women of al ages, income levels and cultures. The Denise House was named after a former resident, who was abused and eventually murdered in March 18.
