As usual il was a successful event. Thank you to the ladies who gave of their time to make it so, aso I mustn'î forget thé two husbands who manned the entrance and took tic money, its nice to let them think that they are in charge of the money, once in a while, only foolin fellows. Door prize was won by Mary Lofthouse. Congratulations! On Sunday, there was a capacity congregation out ta Church, it was necessary to bring in-a few extra chairs. Chad Switzer led thc Hynm sing prior ta the stan 0of the Service, it is always enjoyed by ail, and gives you a chance to request your favorite Hymn. The choir sang the Anthemi 'Jesus will walk with Me." The children's Hymn was "Father of thc Human Famfly'. Rev. Ransoni ýathered ail the children around hini and Uiis week it was necessary for them to sit on the floor, and he asked Uiem if they knew what was taking place on this Sunday, that was *one Uiing they ail kne'- When lie asked themi how theÇ..__ ew, they answered the Baptismal Font, Uic babies present and Uic pitcher of water. Church, Saints are flot named until after they are long gone, they look in ta the past life of the persan, their character, what Uiey did, it had ta be sometliing special. There are many Saints alive in this world, Canada even has Saints, even us.' We do not think of ourselves as Saints, because o! aur faults, aur beliavior at tumes, aur actions, but God called us ail ta be Saints. Paul charged us ail, ta lead a life ta equip us ta become Saints. We have forgotten the basic steps, there have been many basic steps, Uic three R's in school, Reading, Riting, Rithmatic and now the newest threc R's, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The basic steps according ta the Apostle of Acts, Chapter two, 1 teaching, 2 fellowship, 3 breaking of bread, 4 Prayer. No matter who we are, what we are, if we believe in God, wc are a Saint. Fine Lines. . .Somne can teach Letter to the Editor (Cantinued from page 10) creeks every 2 weeks and neyer bas there been any measurable impact of contamination in the creeks in ail the years the landfill has been there. The tire yard is zaned industrial and includes-the storage of tires presently. Mr. Scott stated in the paper that our community lived with the legacy of this site for 20 years. How does he know? He hasn't lived here 20 years. 1 would hope that the proper politicians wauld get the Laidlaw Site licenccd and going and save us taxpayers, anymore expense without anymore of this nonsense. I can see of no way the landfill has depreciated any property around it when they are askîng $125,000 for lots right close to it and houses have tripled hi price ini the last 4 or 5 years. Truck traffic, he stated that s0 many trucks a minute, weil by his estimations well1 be backed up to Toronto. There are no more garbage trucks then school buses, municipal trucks, hydro, dunip, or any -others using these roads. I could go on forever but I think I sure have pointed out a lot of things to the public. Betty Hale Newtonville The Airpiane Law: When the plane you are in is late, the plane you want to transfer to is on time. Weiler's Law: Nothing is impossible for the mani who does not have to do it himself. Cannon's Comment: If you tell the boss you were late for work because you had a flat tire, the next morning jyou will have a flat tire. Harver's Law: A drunken man's wards are a sober man's thoughts.
