The Town has approved the hir- ing of Hough'Stansbury Woodland Limited and Jack B. Ellis an d Associates at a cost of $k1,9,680 to undertake a Recreation/Leisure Services Master Plan for the Town. According to Counc. Stapleton the study is to be completed early in 1991. W. Kay Lycett, solicitor for Mr. and Mrs. Fred Obrist, bas requested counicil to consider the upgrading of a sideroad in the sixth concession allowing the Obrists to continue the apple orchard operation on their 49 acres. To this point access to the property bas been made over private property. It bas been dlaim- ed that at one time the sideroad was an open road. Previous applications bave been made to tbe Town witb no-avail. Tbe Region of Durbam has stated to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs tbat the Region bas not completed their review of an application for infilling at the Laidlaw landfill site. As a result tbat Region is asking tbe Ministry to not refer tbe matter to tbe Ontario Municipal Board under a Consolidated Hearing until sucb time as tbe Region bas made a dcci- sion as to tbe official plan amend- ment.
