PAULINE JOHNSON STAMP - The Post Office Department will issue this special five-cent stamp on March 10 to commemorate the strides made by Canada's Indian population and their contribution to the development of Canada. The stamp will be issued on the date of the centennial of the birth of E. Pauline Johnson, famed Mohawk poetess, who was born at Chiefswood, a few miles southeast of Brantford. In the foreground Miss Johnson is shown wearing a high ruffed collar, and in the background she is seen in tribal dress. Printed in brown and dark green, the stamp will measure one inch by an inch and a half, and 32,000,000 copies will be · printed. The design is by B. J. Reddie of Ottawa. -(Canadian Press Wirephoto)
