Town of Oakville offering a host of new online parking programs by David Lea Oakville Beaver Staff 5 | Friday, May 22, 2015 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com Local residents in need of temporary onstreet parking can now apply for the permits online. The Town of Oakville recently announced the addition of parking permit forms to its website at www.oakville.ca. "Council is always looking for new ways to respond to residents' needs," said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton. "With the new online process, we are providing residents with an easier and more convenient service to request on-street parking." The online tool allows people to park their vehicle on the street overnight or beyond the regulated three-hour maximum parking time. After the online permit is granted, residents can print it out and display it on the dashboard of their vehicle. People can request up to 15 days of onstreet parking per vehicle per year. Other parking initiatives being promoted by the Town include: · North of Dundas Street on-street parking permits, which allow residents in the area to apply for an overnight on-street parking permit at a cost of $50 per month · Quick Stop parking spaces in downtown Oakville and Kerr Village, which allow residents to park for a maximum of 20 minutes at specific meters for just 25 cents · Pay and Display machines in downtown, which allow residents to pay for parking with coin or credit card payments · Pay by plate machines in downtown and Kerr Village parking lots, which take coin or credit card payments and do not require residents to display a ticket Town staff said they are also developing a downtown Oakville parking strategy as part of the ongoing Downtown Plan. The strategy will examine how to accommodate current and future parking demand to service the downtown commercial district and new cultural hub facilities coming to the downtown area. For additional information on parking visit the Town's website. Anyone who spots a vehicle illegally parked can contact Oakville Parking Operations at 905-338-4394. n ow o f f e r i n g P h ys i ot h e r a P y o s t eo Pat h y at h l e t i c t h e r a P y A STEP BEYOND IN CARE Salima Kassam Reg.
