Oakville MPP and Ontario Minister of Labour Kevin Flynn announced the increase to the rehabilitative program during a presentation at OTMH Wednesday. The money for the Step Up program, he said, is part of the Province's $1.7-million investment in the Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), which is intended to help seniors with complex medical conditions who have experienced a recent loss of strength or mobility. "We really want seniors in our community to be able to live independently, to enjoy a higher quality of life. We want to support seniors when they need it the most and that is when they are recovering from that injury or that illness that has required a hospital stay," said Flynn. "We want to make sure we can help them regain the strength they had so they can continue to live independently." see Investment on p.3 Sunday, June 7, 11:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. Peter Gilgan Family YMCA, 410 Rebecca St. Join us for healthy, fun and FREE activities for the whole family! ymcaofoakville.org
