OAKLEY, Barbara Jean Peacefully surrounded by family, Barbara Jean Oakley (nee Allen), born October 8, 1933, quietly slipped away, on Thursday, April 16, 2015, in London, Ontario. Survived by John Richard Oakley, her loving husband of 58 years and her two children Mark John Oakley (Amy) and Elizabeth (Beth) Margaret Oakley. Barbara was blessed with four beautiful granddaughters; Ashley and Alannah (Mark) and Caitlin and Sarah (Beth). Predeceased by her mother, Mary Pearl Allen (Sandford) and predeceased in childhood, by her beloved twin sister, Margaret Dorothy Allen. Barbara was born and raised in Toronto. She married John of Southall, England, in 1956 and he remained the love of her life until the end. John and Barb raised their family in Oakville where Barbara was active in church life and where she enjoyed her beautiful circle of friends. A good game of bridge and a sweet dessert to finish it off were at the top of her list of pleasures. Barbara's wish was to have her ashes scattered in the gardens of Knox Presbyterian Church in Oakville. A private memorial for family and her closest friends will be held in June when the gardens are in full bloom. Barb's infectious laugh and smile will be forever missed. Expressions of sympathy and donations (Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation) would be appreciated and may be made through London Cremation Services (519) 672-0459 or online at www.londoncremation.com www.lifenews.ca
