(at 3rd Line), Oakville Car and Truck Rentals/Sales 905.827.2243 Province hosts public meetings on future of Ontario's Greenbelt continued from p.13 of 265 acres with Glenorchy Conservation Area. This expansion made Oakville the first municipality to grow the Greenbelt. Though a positive step, The Municipal Leaders for the Greenbelt, a network of 70 mayors and councillors, are asking the Province to take an even bigger step in the same direction. Leading up to the municipal elections last year, this network urged the Province to grow the Greenbelt by an additional one million acres (including 200,000 acres for farming) to create the Province and Canada's first foodbelt. I will continue to advocate for the expansion of the Greenbelt, but I need your help. This year, 2015, marks the Greenbelt's 10th anniversary. As such, the Ontario government is reviewing the Greenbelt Plan and three other land use plans, being the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan, and the Niagara Escarpment Plan. These plans work together to manage the region's growth, support economic development and protect our fertile farmland and natural environment. The Province is hosting regional town hall meetings and I strongly encourage residents to attend and participate in the review process. Student Spring Cargo Van SpeCialS!! 24 - hr rental.
