A Strawberry Festival is to be held in the basement of the Church on Wednesday evening, July 11th, 1928, under the direction of the Ladies' Aid. A good programme is being arranged. Admission 35c and 25c. a special gathering in the base-of the church last Thursday, the Rev. J. E. Beckel was presented with purse, and an address given by Mrs. , Lathrope. Mrs. Beckel was the re-pient of a silver cake plate and a im of money, while the girls, Gwendolyn and Phyllis, received an Ivory itt--glass, comb and brush. Miss Vera Clarke read an address to Gwendolyn, and Miss Leona Brown read one to Phyllis. On Friday evening of last week, me 29th, 1928. a very impressive srviee was held in Castleton United Church, when the Rev. G. W. Gardiner inducted into the Pastoral charge. Rev. D. R. Clare of Norham officiated Moderator. Rev. J. E. Glover preached from the text. "Where There 3 Vision, the People Perish." Rev. '. MicLanchlin of Grafton gave the ge to the minister as to the pep-pointing out in a very thoughtful the relationship between Pastor and people. The induction then took place, in which- Pastor and members pledged their fidelity to each other as the welfare of the Kingdom. Mr. Gardiner was asked to speak, and in few words asked that Pastor, people and God might unite as one Trinity to advance the plans of Him who is " Head of the Church.
