to tour the recreation depart ments greenhouses The money will pay for new entrance to the greenhouses at the citys Ferndale Drive operations centre so tours will not have to be led through the centre to get to the greenhouses asat present Gary Stoner city recreation director told committee this week tours of the centre are valuable public relations gesture for the city In rticular he said tours new traffic island installed during reconstruction of Essa Road The extension of Bradford east of Essa alongside the traf fic island will also be made oneway eastbound except at its eastern end where voted Monday to in crease its 1977 grant to the tario Humane Society by 15 per cent The societys Barrie branch now will get $115 per Barrie resident or $3915750 instead of the $1 per resident or $34050 originally planned The society requested the in crease to help cut into pro jected $14000 operating deficit for 1977 The increase is the first granted to the society by the ci ty since 1973 Ald
