Crowds iam Allistons Victoria Street for potato festival Allistons main street jammed as Potato Festival gets going ALLISTON Between 10000 and 20000 spectators thronged Allistons main street Friday as twohour parade got the spud captials annual potato festival going in earnest An estimated 175 floats bands farm implements and other entries filed past deep crowds along the milelong parade route as the weather man cooperated by providing perfect summer evening Later as crowds filled the streets and sidewalks as mer rymakers enjoyed games of chance midway parade bands and latenight shopping or were made that the downtown merchants begin their Christmas season earlier this year as the trend seems to be to moving to early or mid November If the Barrie Jaycees have not already set the date for
