miles south of Barrie but when the opportunity came up to act in Same Time Next Year for the Gryphon Theatre those plans were changed Harron and his wife singer Catherine McKinnon play the lead roles in the Bernard Slade comedy about man and woman who pursue 25 year extramarital affair by spending one weekend together at California motel The play opens Monday at Georgian College Theatre and then moves to Toronto to begin limited run at the Bayview Playhouse on July 27 For Harron versatile performer whose credits in clude live theatre television movies and radio the Slade play is total delight Its not hard work its blessing to do he said in an interview Tuesday Same Time Next Year is suc cessful play because its simple idea thats deftly ex ecuted STAGE PLAY Harrons last performance in stage play was four years ago when he appeared in Theatre Passe Muraille production But his career as an actor goes back more than 40 years to 1936 when he ap peared on CBC radio at the age of 11 Since then
