vvod Argos broke CFL rules but contract still valid TORONTO CP Toronto Argonauts violated Canadian Football League bylaw when they signed cornerback Eric Harris two seasons ago but the players contract still is valid CFL commissioner Jake Gau daur ruled Tuesday The issue concerns an adden dum Harris was asked to sign after he signed the standard CFL players contract worth about $00000 with the Argos in 1977 The addendum covered bonus the player mantains he was to receive this year his op tion season The bonus in ques tion is worth about $50000 However the Argos never filed it with the league office although CFL rules stipulate that all contracts must be sub mitted to the league Gaudaur said the Argos will not be reprimanded because the rule was violated while the club was under the ownership of Bill Hodgson and Dick Shatto was the general manager The Argos now are owned by Car ling OKeefe Ltd and Tommy Hudspeth has replaced Shatto AMERICAN LEAGUE East Pct BBL Boston 31 20 600 77
