by 98 per cent The average consumer paid 07 per cent more to maintain an identical lifestyle last month than the previous month the federal agency reported In spite of last months slight moderation in the upward climb of food prices they remained the major contributor to inflation in April Food prices increased in April by full percentage point The main contributors were fresh fruit which increased that 1971 dollar now has 53 cents worth of spending power Last month it would buy 54 cents worth of consumer goods and year ago it had 58 cents worth of purchasing power COSTS RISE Among the major its beds open Ontarios ministry of health in an effort to cut health costs included the Penetanguishene facility on list of 18 small hospitals that would not receive an increase in operating grants
