John Cockburn chairman of the board in his address to the 30 people present Cockburn says the hospital is just now entering into the real financial squeeze We recognize that if our hospital is to continue to pro vide quality patient care in the face of diminishing revenues and increasing costs this can only be accomplished by the continued dedication of our medical staff and our hospital employees of every nature and description by increasing our overall efficiency and by the in troduetion of new and in novat ive hospital procedures and techniques Financial statements present ed Tuesday ind ica tc that RVH came within $1080 of adhering to its budgeted costs of about $15 million for the 15 month period ended March 31 That excess was offset by special revenue from rentals donations investment income and other sources The hospital came in with an operating surplus of $150410 for the fiscal year The 1977178 budget covered 15 months instead of 12 to allow RVH to harmonize its fiscal year with that of the Ontario government RVH has returned to the usual format for its current budget which forsees gross operating costs of $112 million GENES PETS AQUARIA Birds Tropical
