hunters who have never bought archery tackle before Hunters arent allowed to use 22 calibre firearms to hunt big game because they are underpowered and might only wound rather than kill the animal For the same reason we dont want bow hunters us ing underpowered and map propriate equipment Auld says the regulations covering deer bear and moose hunting were established in response to recommendations from the provinces bow hunters that minimum stan dards for archery gear be set MINIMUM DRAW Under the new regulations crossbows must have minimum draw of 30 cm Ar rows and bolts must be equip ped with head that has at least two sharp unserrated barless steel straight cutting edges The head mUSt not be less than 22 mm at the widest point Arrows must be at least 60 cm in length Longbows including recurve and compound bow must have minimum draw weight of 19 kg when used for hunting deer and 172 kg when used for hunting moose and bear The draw weight will be measured at draw length distance of
