Stewart Cooke Ontario director of the ITnited Steelworkers of America says the union agreed to the court date to head off possible company move to stay the boards order Such move Cooke said could result in suspension of the boards order until the coin panys appeal was heard in the spring Radio Shack employees should not be asked to face any unnecessary delays in their efforts to win just solution and first contract he said The boa rd ruled last week that Radio Shack was guilty of bad faith bargaining and ordered wide range of remedies including payment of union negotiating costs and lost wages provision of list of employees to help the union reorganize and complete con tract offcr to the union The union has been on strike since Aug Frank Berry spokesman for striking employees said the iion could ask the board for an order of compliance forcing the com pany to implement the order but the union agreed not to do this in order to get the appeal over with as quickly as possible He said an appeal was expected and the union would rather it was heard in Supreme ourt as soon as possible rather than tying it up in front of the lower courts for months The order wont be implemented
