depart ment said this summer that the RUSsiaiis could move ships around the region buying up mackerel whenever there as glut and processing it aboard their own ships IKUOIISSORS il Even though the For its part the federal fiin cries department says over the side sales of mackerel and gas peraux in the early summer were justified because thcic was no other market for those species But luney says Prison Director Raymond Desrochers Not so counters Curtis Fon taine executive director of Na tive Clan Organization which counsels native prisoners The tension at Stoney is pretty thick he said But the inmates are criming their own situation out there From what understand handful are trying to gain con trol of drugs and sex Desrochers says claims of battle for control of drugs first made in news stories following the slaying in June are ques tionable We know some inmates fight each other but we dont know if there is warring bet ween groups He added that there is no rea son to expect blowup similar to the last major disturbance at Stony fiveday prisoner strike in 1975 DRUG RELATED former Stony convict now at an adjacent prison farm said the killing and the beating bad as well as Killing 19 months ago were drug related He did not know whether there was gang war under way at the prison but they weredrug killings The former convict who asked that he be referred to only as Ed said the
