province right now but he could call referendum himself if the Liberals come to power in the next election In certain sense Quebecers are not ready to make this decisive choice Ryan said Tuesday in an openline radio show on RadioCanada the Frenchlanguage CBC But they could be ready in three years five years or maybe 10 years when the situa tion ripens in their minds Ryan who said in telephone fective Oct The rates will be 90 cents for the first one eighth of mile and 10 cents for each addi tional oneeighth The previous rates were based on onesixth of mile The decision was reached luesay at Bar rie Police Commission session following deputation from Barrie taxi company representatives The increase will be 132 per cent for one mile about 19 per cent for two miles and about 22 per cent for three The hourly rate will now be $8 as opposed to the previous $6 COMPARES FARES The request is reasonable when compared with fares in other cities said Don Laplante of United Taxis He said London
