more familiar with the small rink dimensions and square corners and also have big partisan crowd backing them up Port Elgin took the lead in the first period when Jim McKinnon beat John Collins in the Flyer net Early in the second period Coulson got his first goal of the game with Paul Regan and Terry Agnew assisting to tie the tally Midway through the period Claude Foy put the Sunocos back in front but shortly after JOIIN COLLINS between the pipes that goal Regan connected on Flyer power play to get his club even Coulson and Phil Branston assisted on the goal The game did not remain tied new players that were breaking in an its going well The only area didnt think we played well in was our power play But we havent worked on our power play yet weve been working on new forechecking system and really just put the lines together two weeks ago We have good offensive players its just matter of getting them organized McCann explained that Detroit approached Barrie about coming up to play them He said that Detroit had heard through someone in Orillia that Coop Midgets were good team and had wanted to play them on their road trip For their part Barrie also knew of Little Caesars and their reputation as good hockey club game between the two seemed to be of mutual benefit McCann was so pleased with Saturdays game that Barrie trip down to Detroit for rematch is in the makings MIGHTGOTHERE We might be going down there but it isnt for sure at this point said McCann McCann feels that Little Caesars is good American team McCann says that Little Caesars are definitely com petitive with Canadian midget clubs but he is not surprised Detroit has been hotbed of hockey in the States and Mc Cann says that Little Caesars may not even be the best midget team out of Detroit this year As for his own club McCann feels that Barrie is good team and that the midget team in Barrie has been good all along Were going to be con tender said McCann Sometimes we have trouble getting ready mentally for league games and thats when we play poorly But we were really up for the game against Detroit One improvement that pleases McCann is the reduc tion in penalties by his players The team had reputation of taking bad penalties but Mc Cann says this season many of the retaliationtype penalties are gone Now McCann wants to work on consisten cysometimes the team plays sporadically Consistency will be important especially in March when Barrie Coop Midgets play hosts of the Air Canada Ontario Midget cham pionships Midgets have won several Ontario championships and hope to repeat that feat But we cant think about that too much right now said McCann The Advance Consumer Seminar How to buy loudspeaker The most popular and educational program on loudspeakers in Canada OCTOBER 30
