presiding This month the chapter is observing its twentyseventh anniversary so visitors from many of the chapters in this area and other districts together with the local members practically filled the hall to capacity To be noted in the list of visitors were 10 past district deputy grand matrons of this district as well as four presiding worth matrons and two presiding worth patrons also members and visitors from several other districts in cluding past matron from Saskatchewan Guests of honor were the Five Star Charter members present After twentyseven years the chapter was indeed honored to have 12 sisters and one brother in attendance Others were unable to be present due to health problems they were missed After short ceremony for the occasion small gifts were givento each Following lengthy meeting group of the members gave delightful little rhythm band concert Envelopes of tickets were sold for Penny Sale The lucky winners tickets were drawn while refreshments in cluding beautiful birthday cake were served Word was recently received by lrene McMaster of the pass ing of her uncle Jose Cooper at Edmonton berta twin brother of lrens mother Emma McMaster resident of the Good Samaritan Home Mr Cooper was in his 95th year The Golden Age Club regular meeting was held in the Shilton Hall on Monday Apirl 15 Rev Fry gave an Eastern message then Margaret Stoltz and Jean Hand sang duet Crucified Sam Johnson in troduced the guest speaker Ed Boynton superintendent of Simcoe Manor Beeton He showed pictures of the manor and the construction of the new addition He was thanked by Lila Hislop $100 cheque was presented to Ed toward the pur chase of van for the manor Annie Gibson returned last weekend from twoweek visit in Vancouver BC with her brother Les and Mrs Cantata which consister of anthems trio and trumpet solo Orvai Carr rendered the solo How Great Thou Art The choir number ing 25 was directed by Mrs Alwyn Thomas with pianist Mrs Bernice Cummings The South Simcoe Pallette Club Art show and sale was held Saturday and Sunday afternoons in St Pauls school auditorium number of local artists displayed their work which was most interesting to view Roy
