hot strip steel into coil and maintain its heat for the length of time needed to feed the steel into the finishing mills The coil process which Stelco hopes to in stall in its Hilton works early next year is designed to reduce power consumption horsepower and mill size In the horizontal process now used the redhot steel cools so quickly that the steel bar which is fed into the refining mills is limited to 300 feet in length In the early 19605 the horizontal process was speeded up to overcome the cooling problems Stelco spokesman said The hot steel bar was fed through the finishing stands at
