themselves as males That was tough for us at first Alexander said We didnt know if wed formed the group because wed been told to or whether we really wanted to do it for ourselves think now we know its good for us to have close friends of the same sex Alexander admits there is tendency in the group to liber ation oneupmanship They sometimes try to be more liber ated more gentle and more tol erant than each other Immunization childrens needs project adopted by Ontario Wi Immunization and study of the needs of children in their communities is the project adopted by the provincial board of the Federated Womens In stitute of Ontario At the recent annual meeting in Toronto it was decided that in the International Year of the Child the 29000 members in this province should be more aware of the need for ood health care especially wit children With concern for other c0un tries as well the members voted $2000 to help India in program of nutritive food and compulsory immunization and to aid mothers in proper nutri tion and child care Mrs Clarence Diamond was reelected president and Mrs Harvey Noblitt of Ottawa was elected vice president of Federated Womens Institute of Canada FWIC on behalf of Ontario Many members had attended the unveiling of the portrait of Helen McKerche for the Cana dian Agricultural Hall of Fame Molly McGhee director of home economics ministry of agriculture and food was high in her praise of the volunteer work of the members throughout the province Mrs McGhee articularly com mended clubs and senior courses ur ing the members to keep nutrition as priority in their work RESOLUTIONS STUDIEI Mrs Maluske led the members in study of several resolutions that had been sub mitted These show the concern in the field of literature nutri tional foods additives crime and violence in the media health and the welfare of the family Mrs Harvey Noblitt presented her report for FWl with concerns for the well being of the nation The land use policy had been studied
