School Board and its 283 teachers have reached an impasse in contract negotiations and the province has appointed factfinder The Education Relations Commission has appointed Metropolitan Toronto Separate School Board to prepare report identifying the outstan ding issues that have brought negotiations to an impasse The separate school board has been negotiating with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association OEC TA since February fact finders report is expected within 30 days and Mr Bergin may or may not make recom mendations for settlement terms If both sides fail to agree Cyril lowlcs told seminar spon sored by the Barrie and District Ministerial Association Tuesday And if siding with poor means supporting revolution even violent revolution so be it said Dr Powles who spent two decades as an Anglican mis sionary in Japan before joining the faculty of Trinity College Toronto in 1970 Dr Powlcs said the develop ment of liberation theology CAS wants money for abuse The Simcoe County Childrens Aid Society YASl is looking for provincial money to help pay for pilot project to study child abuse Of the 750 cases of child abuse reported in Ontario last year 35 were in Simcoe County Six months ago the society appointed special team to study the problem Since April it has investigated 60 reported cases of which 15 were actual cases of child abuse Tuesday the societys board of directors was told the ser vices committee had met with the child abuse team the previous night The two rties agreed to form committee to prepare brief asking the pro Vince for money Marilyn Hamilton services committee chairman said the project would allow the team members to spend more time with families where child abuse is problem They could counsel parents and children more fr uently
