20 years He has prodded and directed its growth from small nondescript com any to an Opera Company at can per form in season of diverse and difficult operas He has pro duced company that has some stature in the international world of music 100 attend anniversary About 100 friends and former ne bors of James and Ger Grinham were on hand Saturday to help them celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary The couple served tea and cake in the lounge of the senior citizens apartment building at 18 Sophia Street East The Grinhams have lived in the building since it opened in 1970 and they lived in Barrie since 1950 Gertrude nee Williams and James were married in 1926 in St Marks Anglican Church Toronto by Rev Walter White now deceased They lived for time in Toronto and Oakville From 1959 to 1964 Mr Grinham worked in the ord nance depot at Camp Borden He served with the 48th Highlanders in World War One Gertrude has been housewife Among those at the an niversary party were the Grinhams only daughter Nor ma Mrs Reg Pratt of Barrie and granchildren Dennis 15 and Eleanor 14 The guests came from as far away as Montreal but there were also some who were the Grinhams neighbors
