for an abstract water color titled And In the Autumn Sikko Hiemstra Midhurst artist won third prize with Sunflowers still life oil painting Miss Fifes interest in art goes back to her student days in Barrie when she began lessons with graduate of the Beau Arts school in Paris Miss Fife never com pleted formal art training but during the past 50 years shes studied briefly in Toronto and England travelled widely throughout the and Europe and taught art to children in Toronto and Barrie All through my life Ive been peppered to do artwork whichl love she said but Ive been insecure because of interruptions Miss Fife entered the library art show when friends coaxed her into submittingThe Cabbie Miss Fife said the painting is based on sketch made in London England He was an old man whod lost his teeth and his job and he was very proud of the fact that he was one of the first people licenced to drive cab in London Miss Fife said the last time she entered an art show was in the 19305 when
