Phillies nail down first championship since 1950 season MONTREAL CP The scene in the locker room was typical for any postchampion ship victory Players squirted one another with cham agne Some wen got some own their throats There was much hilarity Thats the way it was for Philadelphia Phillies Sunday afternoon after taking the Na tional League East Division championship by beating Mon treal Expos 41 in the first game of doubleheader The Phillies mobbed one an other after the game and jog ged off to the clubhouse for the champagne party celebrating Philadelphias first title since the team beat victorious Sunday from the firstever Canadian Football League game to be played at the Olympic Stadium trouncing Ottawa Rough Riders 232 in game dominated by defensive units Prior to the game the
