fantastic but marriage not Dear Ann Landers You often advise people with marital pro blems to see their clergyman or their lawyer Well Ive seen both and am more confused than ever left my second husband after only few months because our marriage was terrible except for the sex which was fantastic decided needed more than that My lawyer says am foolish not to get divorce because under our states community property laws could become responsible for my husbands debts the is selfemployed and in vulnerable business he is much older than so theres chance he could become disabled and would have to take care of him for the rest of his life if should die first he could possibly inherita large share of my estate This would be lot of money if my parents should predeceasc me The money rightfully should go to my children My clergymen says Dont divorce him You would be twotimc loser and it would look very bad for our Protestant church What do you say Ann Im going to take your advice Mid west Teeter Totttr Dear Mid Listen to your lawyer One of the poorest reasons for remaining legally married is concern over how divorce would look to others And if you knew how many people are do destroyed your summers work It has been good season for geraniums Have seen some very wonderful plants in town this year People are growing geraniums from seed and if you are one that has good stock from seed hang on to them Most experts agree that we have few virus free strains of geraniums if any from cut tings However the seed grown ones should be virus free Like ly they are just not in full bloom and you are horrified at losing them Id dig them up and pot them Remember geraniums must be pot bound to bloom well or else you will get lots of foliage and no bloom Cut back your lants to say onethird and then ring them along in your windows for winter show With other large varieties there are three choices Dig them up put them in basket let them dry out until all leaves are dead Then strip the branches and hang upside down in bunches in cool cellar or frost free place until March Then you cut off the stems to about three inches above the root and repot for spring plan ting Or you can dig up the lant cut back to one third eight and repot it water very little and later not at all and just let it sit ready to start to grow again about March Or you can take slips not too big from the top of the branches and root in sand ver miculite peat moss or even water When roots form pot them in small pots and later in ON inch pots Calla lilies should be up by now and remember they are bog plants so put in container that will hold enough water to keep them moist Ferns should be cleaned up and cut back where necessary before bringing in pail of detergent suds to wash them up and then
