of money paid on reactors OTTAWA CIi Commons committee said Monday it suspects some of the $18 million paid by Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd AECL on overseas sales of nuclear reactors was used for illegal or corrupt pur But the Commons public accounts com mittee said that after 15 months of study and consideration it has been unable to prove misuse of the money It is left only with suspicions downtown core area will remain frozen un til at least March 11 Ald Ernie Rotman asked city council Mon day to repeal motion passed Feb 21 declar ing its intention to amend the citys zoning bylaw to steer future commercial growth to the Dunlop Street area while freezing com mercial growth outside the downtown core Only limited commercial growth will be permitted in the Allandale area Council passed the motion in closed special meeting endorsing the land use recommendations prepared by Diamond Planners Ltd and James MacLaren Ltd both of Toronto the citys downtown core revitalization consultants However Ald Rotmans motion was tabled by Aldermen Janice Laking Fred Ruemper Alex Arthur and Gord Mills Under councils rules of procedure mo tion can be tabled with the consent of four to
