Sunset Speedway off Highway 11 near Stroud Those are two dates to remember Besides bringing in the heavies of snowmobile racing there Will also be the chance to watch the three Ontario champions of the Lee famin per form on their own turf so to speak The Simcoe Cup is the venture of the lnnisfil Chamber of Commerce and it is running in conjunction With the annual lnnisfil Winter Carnival Jan Quuite Cup This particular race is considered major tuneup event for the upcoming Kawartha Eganville lnnisfil Picton Owen Sound and Hurks Falls sanctioned races Bombardier led by the Flying Dutchmen snowmobile team of Peter and Andy Van Dolder of Owen Sound emerged Canada Distribution Division Ontario Branch of Barrie The Lee team running under Kohler engines placed se cond overall with win in the 250 modified class and seconds in the 340 and 440 modified classes The Bellevilfe race is known as dryrim for sanction ed races said Aurel Dorion chairman of the Chamber of Commerce sponsored races Its strictly race so they can figure out what their machines are doing Mr Dorion said the lnnisfil Chamber of Commerce has been planning the Simcoe Cup races since last summer purse of $7340 is offered to the victors along with trophies Mr Dorion said it cost $2500 to get the race for lnnisfil which is expecting to draw between 175200 drivers for the four divisions There will be two additional races at the lnnisfil race in addition to the pro classes They were tried at Belleville this weekend and found to be really tremendous Dorion said The lnnisfil Race two races for amateurs one for drivers under 16yearsofage and one for those 16yearsofage and over These are for family stock machines no bigger than 250 class Dorion said of the under 16 category The older age group is for machines of the 250 340 and 440 class all family stock machines Dorion advised anyone interested in entering this event to contact the lnnisfil Chamber of Commerce 4363729 for fur ther information He didnt want anyone losing chance at trophy because he didnt fully understand the regulations The pro classes will have competition in the 250 340 and 440 super stock 250 340 and 440 super modified class There is also special $300 purse for the total points cham pion of the twoday event Sunset Speedway will have some 50000 gallons of water poured on onethird mile oval track to handle the
