have been arranged Some 336 curlers representing 84 rinks are battling it out in four groups for the honors with another 40 signed up when spares are needed As explained by secretary Frank Hersey there are 28 rinks competing in and group schedules with games on Monday and Thursday evenings until the wiiidup on Thursday Dec Another 28 rinks in two other groups play on Tuesday and Friday evenings with the schedule running until Dec 10 Then there are 14 rinks competing in group where games are scheduled for 15 pm Another 14 are entered in group with games at alternate times on Wednesday evenings Anyway leaders in all six groups qualify for playoffs to decide the first series championship which have been arranged to start on Tuesday Dec There will be four nights of play with finals on Friday Dec 17 In the meantime players have been asked to register for the second schedule between Monday Nov 29 and Thursday Dec After the midwinter play there will be third schedule which should provide plenty of local curling activity Special playoffs to settle rinks to represent the club in the various provincial and other championship competitions also have been receiving all due attention Three trophies will be awarded to winners of first schedule playdowns These include the Labatts trophy Consumers Gas and 0K Johnson Travel Agency The ladies curling club which is headed by
